I AM TROY DAVIS

The past week tested the validity of the U.S. Justice system.  It seems as though there were blinders on the eyes of those who could have stopped the unjust execution of convicted murderer Troy Anthony Davis.  The State of Georgia went through with the execution despite conflicting evidence and retracted testimonies that prove his innocence. Despite pleas for clemency from top political figures around the world including former President Jimmy Carter, Pope Benedict XVI, former FBI Director William Sessions, former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman Fletcher and Larry Thompson, the former deputy U.S. Attorney General, to name a few. The B&W images are from a protest held the Friday before the execution. The color images are from a protest outside the prison on the evening of the Wednesday, September 21, 2011 execution.
